We found this article published by Government Executive very interesting!  The United States Postal Service conducted a survey of 5,000 internet connected Americans 18 years or older and here are the highlights:

  • 8 in 10 believe USPS should continue to serve all areas of the country
  • 4 in 10 opposed eliminating Saturday delivery
  • More than 50% prefer receiving all or most of their mail physically rather than digitally
  • 77% wrongly believed the USPS is funded with tax dollars (USPS receives $0 tax dollars)
  • 48% support closing underutilized post offices
  • 50% support making more servies available at the post office such as renewing drivers license
  • 88% support the Postal Service’s efforts to expand into the digital realm

…the results demonstrate the importance of the Postal Service in lives of Americans.
