March is Women’s History Month. A month for celebrating as well as reflection. In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we interviewed a couple of the women-owned businesses that utilize Ordoro in their everyday workflow. Meet, Rafi Nova and Pennie’s Tea

We sat down with each of these fantastic women to discuss the importance of Women’s History Month!

RAFI NOVA

Meet Rafi Nova — a women-owned business that prioritizes supporting ethnic women artisans, utilizes remnant fabrics that would have been discarded, and inspires families to get out for everyday adventures.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you and your business?

Women’s History Month is a great opportunity to reflect on the progress of women in all fields of work as well as to celebrate the pioneering women that came before us. As a women-owned and run business, collaborating, accelerating, supporting, and creating new opportunities for women is front and center for Rafi Nova.

What advice would you give to your younger self if you could go back in time?

I would tell myself that nothing is permanent, change is good and that everything happens for a reason; things seem to work themselves out!

How has Ordoro made an impact on RafiNova’s fulfillment process?

When we scaled rapidly from a literal garage to warehouse and storefront from 10 orders to 10,000 to 100,000+ one of the biggest struggles was managing both inventory on a rapidly changing product and shipping. Most software is built for pallets and multiple warehouses so the needs of small light shipping were not always addressed by Ordoro’s competition.

Finding Ordoro suddenly meant not only was inventory and shipping in one place but its flexible and customizable nature allowed us to see and have control of so many parts of our business.

PENNIE’S TEA

Meet Pennie — an educator, a tea sommelier, a health professional, a survivor of domestic violence, and the owner of Pennie’s Tea.

Our mission is to provide teas that are healthy and delicious to help promote fit and healthier lifestyles. Pennie’s Tea also has a social mission to support other domestic violence survivors in finding their power and passion.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we’re sharing some of Pennie’s advice she communicated with our team!

How can customers continue to support Black Women-Owned businesses?

Customers can help Black Women-Owned Businesses by acknowledging and supporting brands, especially ones with social missions such as Pennie’s Tea.

What advice would you give to your younger self if you could go back in time?

The one thing that I would tell my past self, is always do your research before investing your money into resources.
