Shipping expectations are rising, marketplaces are growing, and customers are behaving less predictably than ever. In this weeks Commerce Corner, we’re looking at the operational pressure building behind the scenes of eCommerce and how merchants are adapting to it.
📦 eCommerce Shipping Trends Took Over NPF 2026
Shipping expectations got ridiculous fast. Customers want speed, tracking, low costs, and constant updates, and now carriers are scrambling to keep up. That was one of the biggest themes coming out of NPF 2026.

🛒 Consumers Say They’re Worried. They’re Still Shopping
Consumers keep saying they are nervous about spending. Retail sales keep climbing anyway. That contradiction is making eCommerce demand a lot harder to predict right now.

📈 Marketplace Growth Is Up. Operations Are Feeling It
Amazon, eBay, and Etsy are all growing at the same time. Great news until inventory gets messy, fulfillment slows down, and operations start playing catch-up.
Why multi-channel growth gets complicated fast →
🚚 Amazon Is Becoming a Carrier Faster Than You Think
Amazon is not just competing with online stores anymore. It is moving deeper into shipping itself, putting new pressure on carriers and quietly reshaping eCommerce logistics.

🎤 What Commerce Live 2026 Revealed About eCommerce
Commerce Live 2026 made one thing obvious. eCommerce is getting more connected, more flexible, and honestly… more complicated. Merchants are feeling that shift everywhere.

BEHIND THE ORDERS

The best connected commerce experiences are usually the ones customers barely think about. Orders sync correctly. Inventory stays accurate. Retail displays work the way they are supposed to. Checkout feels smooth. Everything just… works.
Which is exactly why we appreciated seeing Ordoro included in a recent Bouncepad case study from b.solutions.
The case study explored how Bouncepad approaches connected retail experiences and the operational systems supporting them behind the scenes. And honestly, it highlighted something that keeps showing up across ecommerce right now:
The more connected commerce becomes, the more important operational visibility becomes too.

ORDORO IN THE WILD

We joined our friends at ProShip during NPF 2026 for their Cinco de Mayo meetup in Phoenix, and it was a good reminder that eCommerce is still very much a people business.
Behind all the automations, integrations, and tracking numbers are teams working together to solve the same operational challenges merchants deal with every day. Events like this are always a good reminder of how connected the eCommerce and shipping community really is.
Also…shipping conversations somehow get a lot better when tacos and margaritas are involved.
CUSTOMER SHOUTOUT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the best parts of building Ordoro is hearing how it helps make eCommerce operations feel a little less overwhelming day to day.
“Ordoro was truly plug and play. The shipping rates were excellent, setup was easy, and support was always there when we needed help.”
That’s exactly the kind of experience we hope merchants have when things start clicking into place.
That’s a wrap for this week’s Commerce Corner. eCommerce keeps getting more connected, which is great until inventory, fulfillment, and shipping all decide to have a meeting at the same time.
Until next time!
